Changes at the Garvin RanchWyldfire has grown up to be a beautiful mare. She does have the nervous trait, which she recieved from her sire; however, she also has that wonderful stamina from her Mustang sire too. She gained the fast trait from her dam, so her training as a racer will begin soon. Steven has wonderfully agreed to begin her training.
With the gifts they received from friends and family, they were able to add on another room to their lovely little cabin. Although funds were tight, they also managed to purchase a lamb, which cost them $1,800.00. However, the weekly income of $400.00 per week will quickly help them recoop their money. They are set for the long winter, which is 28 sim days long. I think they are already tired of the snow. |
Holidays under the Full MoonDana and Steven are catching up on their reading, and both take rides each day on the horses. Wyldfire has won several Beginner Races, and placed second in her first Advanced Race. Dana raced Tawny at the International Level and won $1,200.00, which nearly paid for the lamb they had just purchased!!
The holidays are upon them, and Steven was kind enough to put up the Christmas lights. Dana loves to sneak outside at night and look at the pretty lights, and everyone once in a while, she stills pinches herself to make sure all of this is real. The snow is still piled high, but there is lots of warmth at the Garvin Ranch. |
The GreenhouseIt is mid-winter and Dana and Steven are happily married. During a short dry spell, Steven built this small greenhouse as an addition to their home. It helps both of them to continue building their gardening skills and to pass the time, until Spring arrives.
They had plenty of food, but without growing any vegetables, the only income they have is the weekly money from the cow and the sheep. The greenhouse took most of their savings, but they both felt it was worth it. Steven learned quickly, that he had to add a floor to the greenhouse; otherwise, the plants froze. They only have a few plants started. |
Two Cows and a SheepIt took several weeks of planting in the greenhouse, along with the income from the other cow and lamb, and they were able to purchase another cow. The income from these three animals will greatly help them add on to their tiny cabin. Dana is expecting their first child, and both of them are excited. Steven trudged to town in the snow to buy a baby book, so they could read about the upcoming delivery.
|
Second GenerationIt was late one evening, Dana felt the labor pains begin. After what seemed to be hours of labor pains, they finally decided to go to the Edenshire Hospital. They walked through a snowstorm, so she could deliver their first child.
(Only a sim would walk through a snowstorm, walk all the way to town...to deliver a child.) |
Donovan GarvinDonovan Garvin was born in the early morning hours of the next day. He will have fairy wings, just like his dad, Steven. Mom and baby are resting comfortably.
Once the baby was born, Steven's interest in riding was renewed. His skill has increased greatly, and he continues to train Wyldfire for this Spring's racing season. |
28 Days of WinterThe 28 days of winter just drags on, and the harbor below their house is frozen over. Everyday it seems to snow and the temperature is below zero. Some days the plants in the greenhouse are even frozen, and it takes several days for them to be ready to plant again. Dana is having cabin fever and desperately wants to go riding on Tawny. Spring is two days away, and the family is certainly ready for it!! (So am I!) |
