First Day of SpringAs a child living at the Riverview Orphanage, Dana Garvin, had always dreamed of having her own place. When she was old enough to leave the orphanage, she began working nearly day and night to save enough money to purchase a place for her to buy and call her own. When she had enough money saved, she bought a nice large lot in the county of Edenshire. It had a tiny old cabin with three small rooms, but it was her home.
She built a fence and planted a tiny garden. She spent all day in the garden that first Spring. Each Sunday, she took her produce to the market and sold it. Her skill was gaining and by the end of the season, she was talking to the lettuce for company. She didn't mind though, because it was everything she had dreamed it would be. |
Alien EncounterIt was nearing the end of Spring, when she had an unusual visitor. They hit it off quite well and had several nice chats. When Qusul called to ask her on a date, she agreed. She hadn't been anywhere in weeks, and needed a night out on the town. However, she found out that his idea of a fun date...left her cold and slimy.

Dating an AlienSo, Dana rushed to meet him for her first date. She had no idea that he wanted to meet at the local graveyard!! She waited and waited for him to show up, but he never did! Her first date was a disaster! She finally decided to make the best of it and began fishing, which she then sold at the market on Sunday.

TawnyFrom the money she saved from her Spring garden crop, she purchased an Australian Stock Horse mare, which she named Tawny. Dana spent most of the summer training Tawny and competing in lots of races. Her garden didn't do as well, but she still made money racing her new BFF.
At the orphanage, she had often dreamed of owning a horse, and being free to ride where she wanted to. Now that it was happening, she often pinches herself... just to make sure it is real. That summer, she won 6 beginning races and 2 advanced races. She's hopes to compete at the International level. |
A Wonderful Summer DayShe met someone wonderful at the Summer Festival. They immediately had sparks flying, and I am not talking about the local fireworks display either They spent the day together flirting and enjoying the beautiful summertime weather. Donovan and she was from different worlds, but looking for the same thing...love.
Dana had eaten so many snow cones, that she was nauseous, so she went to the ladies room to freshen up. It happened so suddenly, and she knew in her heart that something was wrong. She ran to his side, but the Grim Reaper was already there. Donovan suddenly died from unknown causes. Dana stood at his grave crying for the love that could have been. She only knew him for one day, but it had been such a wonderful summer day. |
Cow BarnDana has big plans for her little place in the country. She built a small barn for a cow that she'd like to purchase. Cows cost $2,000.00 to purchase, but they bring in $500 a week. Dana is looking towards that long winter, and that extra money will come in handy. If she can just save up enough to purchase a nice cow. She is still racing Tawny whenever she gets the chance.
She's still trying to get over the loss of Donovan, so she's still not seeing anyone right now. |
Dana's First AutumnDana has planted some fall crops, but the weather is so cold the plants are not doing well at all. She needs the extra funds to make it through the long winter. She is keeping busy by racing Tawny, and she and Tawny are riding through the gorgeous country side.
She doesn't have much produce to sell at this Sunday's market, so she may ride to the horse park. |
Autumn SplendorThe day at the park was fun. She ate some hot dogs and had a nice drink. She met lots of new people, and Tawny met some wild horses. Dana returned home in a much better mood.
The next day....she received a phone call from Steven, whom she met at the park. Also, Tawny had a visitor during the night too, when a beautiful white stallion came calling and those bells did ring!! |
A Cow!By the end of Autumn, Dana had finally saved enough money to purchase her cow, who she named Daisy.
Dana's garden did okay, and she did grow some pumpkins, which she continuously wanted to carve. Tawny is in foal and expecting her baby any day now. Dana and Steve have become great friends. Life is good. |
WyldfireTawny had a pretty little filly, which Dana named Wyldfire. Dana's dream of racing Tawny at the international level is on hold for now. Tawny is a good mom, so Dana is hoping to one day race Wyldfire.
Dana has the money from the cow, so she should be able to make it through the winter. She hopes to be able to build a tiny greenhouse, so she can keep busy through the long 28 day winter. |
Home ImprovementWinter is only a few days away, so all of the work Dana has put into her little farm is beginning to show. She has some extra money from the fall crop, as well as Tawny's racing income, so she added an attic. She now has space for a small bedroom. She also caught a spotted turtle, which she is keeping through the winter. She will probably let him go when Spring arrives, but for now, he is up in her attic bedroom.
She also had enough money to build on to her cow barn. She now has space for another cow. It will take quite a bit of time to raise the additional $2,000.00 to purchase another cow, but she has a pretty barn waiting for the animal. She also has plans to purchase a lamb, but that will have to be sometime next year. Maybe some chickens in the Spring will be fun too?? |
First Day of WinterOn the first day of each season, all of the crops must be destroyed and different types of plants are started. It wasn't as hard to destroy the crops this time, because of all of the snow covering them. However, at the Spring crop, it was very difficult for Dana to destroy all the plants she had started, just to replant other types of crop.
The temperatures have dropped, and the time has come for Mother Nature to rest. Dana has the animals to take care of, so she'll still have plenty to do. Maybe, she will finally have the time to finish that great novel by Irfan, The River that Sustains Us? |
Wedding Bells are Ringing in Edenshire!!Steven and Dana have been dating, and they seem to get along so well together. They both love horses, and they both have the friendly trait. They sit and chat for hours about lots of different topics. Steven was a natural in the garden, because he was part of the local fairy clan.
He arrived at her home one evening for a visit, and suddenly pops the big question..."Dana, will you marry me?" When Dana suddenly looked up, she burst into tears, and he got a little anxious. After several seconds, he began to stammer...."Dana I love you, and I thought you loved me too?" When Dana continued to cry, he suddenly turned to leave, but it was then that she grabed his arm and managed to shake her head, up and down. YES!! He seems puzzled, but as he soon found out, they were tears of joy. When she young and lived at the orphanage, one evening she stood looking up at the stars. She had made a secret "Wish Upon A Star", that one day she would find someone to love. At that time, life was difficult for her, so she had thought of it as merely the passing fantasy of a lonely little girl. As Steven was professing his love to her, she noticed a falling star. It reminded her of her wish that cold evening, and it brought a flood of emotion to her heart. It was a small and private wedding, so they could begin their life together right away. |
